Suzanne Somers Apologizes for Patrick Swayze Comment

Just days after Patrick Swayze died after his long battle against pancreatic cancer, celebrity Suzanne Somers criticized his chemotherapy cancer treatment saying that he should have been “built up nutritionally,” and his body rid of the toxins.

Suzanne faced a lot of criticism for her remarks and has apologized profusely. She did not write to Patrick’s widow, but did write a letter to his brother, apologizing for her comments on his treatment.

She had said, "They took a beautiful man and put poison in his body. Why couldn't they have built him up nutritionally and gotten rid of the toxins? I hate to be controversial…but I have to speak out."

Suzanne’s book “Knockout” on innovative cancer treatments is due out today. Ten years ago, she beat her own cancer with bioidentical hormones and nutrition, and today, is a strong advocate for alternative therapies. “Knockout” consists of interviews with cutting edge doctors world wide on their new cancer treatments.

Kate Gosselin is Feeling Lonely After the Breakup

According to People.com Kate Gosselin is lonely. Of course, this is a natural reaction to divorce and relationship bust-ups! However, for celebrities in the limelight, it's even harder. Nothing you do or say is private and your grief and your behaviour is recorded by the celebrity gossip and news media. Not an easy task, indeed! You would have to say, it must be even more difficult for the children of Hollywood celebrities. It's difficult enough time even for children of ordinary people. However, in the celebrity news again, the Kate and Jon Gosselin story continues. You'll get no privacy when you're famous - even wearing dark glasses won't help. There's always a price to pay for fame, stardom, wads of cash and the celebrity life.

"While Jon Gosselin has been spotted out with more than one woman since splitting from his wife, Kate Gosselin is not ready for romance.

"I am not yet divorced officially," she told Larry King on CNN's Larry King Live Tuesday when asked if she feels single.

As for attracting potential suitors, Gosselin was clear that she's "too busy" to date. "I'm lonely, but I'm very busy," she said stoically.

Addressing how the couple's children – 9-year-old twins (Mady and Cara) and 5-year-old sextuplets (Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Joel, Alexis and Leah) – are handling the split, Gosselin said: "They understand the process [of divorce]. They're working through it the same way that Jon and I are. They're doing remarkably well."

Gosselin says that like any kids whose parents have split, her children wish she and Jon could be together, but for now, "My goal is peace and we've achieved that."

Still, Gosselin acknowledged that their life isn't always peaceful. She explained an encounter that resulted in the police being called to their home in Wernersville, Pa. "It was not this huge fight," she said. "It was just a thing where I wanted to be there with the kids as opposed to a babysitter. And he wasn't fond of that idea."

Gosselin said she did not call 911, but rather made a "local, routine police call," and that there was no violence. "I have good days and bad days," she said. "This day was a rough day."


"Everyone works. Everyone has a job," Gosselin said when asked about why she signed up for a reality show about her family. "This is the most flexible, wonderful, wonderful job for myself ... The kids are just playing in front of the cameras."

So will the entire family continue the show? Kate would not speak for Jon, who, according to reports, would like to be done filming, but said she'll plans to keep shooting .

"Myself and the kids will continue the show," she said. "I signed my name to a contract and I am going to do my best to make that work as long as it is healthy and safe for myself and the kids."

Does that mean there will be another season of Jon & Kate Plus 8? "Possibly," Gosselin said. "There could be or there could not be."

Charges Dropped Against Kiefer

Well, it’s good celebrity news for actor Kiefer Sutherland, aged 42 – because lord knows, this bad boy needs a break from the law. Charges have been dropped against Kiefer whereby he was charged with allegedly attacking a fashion designer.

The star of TV’s “24” had been charged with attacking Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough by headbutting in May in New York City . District Attorney Spokewoman, Alicia Maxey Green stated, “We declined to prosecute after a full investigation and that included speaking to the complaining witness who was quite uncooperative . Therefore, the D.A. declined to prosecute.”

The Los Angeles City Attorney’s office was also looking into the case because of Kiefer’s previous drunk driving charge of 2007 for which he was still on probation for. He has also been cleared by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office.

Jessica Alba has made a charity donation to apologize for putting up shark conservation posters.

The Hollywood beauty – who was criticized last week when photographs emerged of her posing in front of buildings covered in giant images of the killer fish – has written a check for the United Way of Central Oklahoma charity.

Erin Brewer, from the community organization, said: "We're very pleased she made a contribution. The money will go toward various good works around Oklahoma City."

Photographs of the 28-year-old actress smiling and holding a pot of glue in front of a defaced bridge, electricity box and advertising billboards appeared online last week.

A billboard advertising United Way was one of those vandalized in the incident.

It is unknown exactly how much the star has donated, but it is believed to be around $9,000."

A source close to the family said his weight was down to 105 pounds and he suffers stomach problems, needs assistance to walk sometimes. Another problem is fluid buildup in the abdomen which is drained periodically. However, a source close to the family says “… he’s upbeat and taking everything that happens in stride.”

He is determined to live a “normal, productive life as much as possible.”
