The idea of celebrity Brad Pitt running for New Orleans mayor has blown the city. On the street of New Orleans, people are easily spotted for wearing Brad Pitt’s T-shirt. It really does seem like a genuine election campaign. But few days ago during NBC’s interview, Brad Pitt officially declined the possibility and laughed it off saying “I don’t have a chance”.
In 2005, Brangelina began their charity work in New Orleans after the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina. They appealed for donations from various channels and helped build more than 150 new residences. The couple even went to the construction sites in person many times. In order to attract more old residents and new comers to come to the city and rebuild their hometown again, Brad and Angelina also bought a mansion there and become initiators. Because of their generosity, local people love the couple very much and even titled Brad, “the Son of New Orleans.”
During this year’s mayor election, which will occur in November, people gave 13 reasons to nominate Brad Pitt. They were printed on the Brad-Pitt-for-Mayor t-shirts. The biggest reason was the hope that New Orleans will become the next Hollywood, so more than just grilled chicken and the French Quarter won’t be the only famous things. These T-shirts are so damn popular, selling at $20 each. For every T-shirt sold, 2 dollars is donated to the “Make It Right” program to help the city in its further recovery.
Unfortunately, Brad Pitt is not eligible to run because according to local law, a candidate must live in the city for at least five years before the date of the election. But Brad has only been a citizen of New Orleans for four years.
On the other hand, Angelina Jolie has a much more ambitious career goal. She might be interested in becoming the first female president of United States, maybe 20 years into the future.
Earlier this year, Angelina revealed to Britian’s Daily Express that she is getting bored with Hollywood after winning all of the awards an actress could possibly win, playing all of the different roles that she ever wanted to play, being praised countlessly for her matchless beauty and peerless sexiness, and of course, being criticized for every misdeeds she had done in the past. Being Angelina, the tough diva figure, it is not surprising that she would want to do something as large as running for the president.
Angelina’s pal added further “She is passionate about people’s rights, war and justice and thinks she can get more hands-on and make even more of a difference by getting into politics. She admires Obama and thinks she could make a big difference too if she were in his position.”
Well, one thing for sure, Angelina is definitely legally eligible to run for American’s president by the time Brad is also eligible to become a mayor of New Orleans
