Hugh Grant Wants to be a Father at 49

Seems it's not just women that want to get pregnant after the age of 45. British celebrity actor Hugh Grant thinks he's ready for fatherhood too, according to this Contact Music article.

HUGH GRANT hasn't given up on fatherhood - he just fears he'd need a lot of nannies.

The bachelor admits he really didn't want kids a decade ago, but the fact that he's now surrounded by the children of friends and family members has made him realise he could be a good dad.

The About A Boy star tells the upcoming issue of America's Parade magazine, "I have so many nephews and nieces and cousins and godchildren, I like the thought (of kids), but that’s on the basis that I can leave after 10 minutes.

"I don’t know what it would be like 24 hours a day. I think I’d have a lot of nannies.

"But I haven’t given up hope... I find I’m not as bad with children as I used to be."

Actor George Clooney recently touched down in Toronto on his private jet (yes, he does own his own jet) for the Toronto Film Festival after spending time in Venice for the Venice Film Festival. He has two films on the go, “The Men Who Stare at Goats” and “Up in the Air” both which are scheduled to play the Toronto Film Festival.

And, George Clooney has a new girlfriend and chose the Venice Film Festival in which to “bring her out”. Sporting a bandaged hand and the girl, Italian TV presenter and sexy men’s mag model Elisabetta Canalis on the other, the two graced the red carpet. They had recently been spending some quality time together at George’s lakeside villa on Lake Como.

Spotted on the Venice lagoon in a water taxi seeing the sights of Venice , people are excited, calling the pair, the next Brangelina. Call it George Clooney’s Italian fling, the two had previously met in Rome, but alas, George was still dating former girlfriend Sarah Larson. Seems George was following Canalis around in his car when she was filming with actor Allessandro Siani. This comes from Siani himself when telling all to an Italian magazine.

George Clooney, 48, and Canalis, 32, have only been dating for three weeks, so the flame is quite hot. Will this relationship last for George? We aren’t exactly sure because most typical Hollywood relationships don’t usually last because Hollywood couples seem to get married whilst still in the hot honeymoon phase and divorce as soon as the passion cools off. Maybe George doesn’t even want to get married or maybe George is gay. Maybe he will turn out just like Warren Beatty and marry very late in life. Who knows for sure? Only George himself.

Wishing him the best of luck with his new lady. Let it be real. Aren’t we getting tired of the celebrity gossip these days, a continuous tale of Hollywood’s short quick marriages and equally as quick divorces.

Joe Jonas is Single Again

Teenage girls will certainly be ecstatic about this celebrity gossip news. Heart throb Joe Jonas, 19 years old, singer of the Jonas Brothers pop band, is single again! He’s back in the market.

His relationship with the actress Camilla Belle, 22, is so OVER. Camilla Belle’s representative confirmed the good or bad news, depending on your view, saying “Yes, it’s true. There is no third party involved, and they care deeply about each other and will remain friends.” All actors remain friends, have you noticed?

Joe’s big brother Kevin Jonas just got engaged.

Now both of them can get back to the Hollywood dating scene and teen girls can dream that there’s a hope that they, too, can now date Joe Jonas. He’s a free agent.

Mischa Barton Back to Work

Celebrity Mischa Barton is back to work after being released from a three week hospital stay. She was booked into a Los Angeles psychiatric ward after supposedly going on a "three day cocaine binge” so said a friend of hers.

It was rumoured that she was “suicidal” and apparently called the police by herself, prior to her rest at the hospital. Her friends claimed she was in very bad shape, running out of money, loveless and was trying to escape her depression. Apparently, she was in a mess. Mischa had cancelled her appearance to promote her newest movie in New York. She ended up staying in hospital for three weeks.

Her spokesperson now says that Mischa is back at work promoting her new series “The Beautiful Life.” Production had been delayed because of her stay in the hospital. Production began yesterday.

One has got to feel sorry for these young stars. They are blessed by good looks, great bodies, endless opportunities, talent, mounds of cash in hand. The problem is in achieving success too early in life. You don’t have to work for it like normal people. Something tells me that easy success and being blessed in life at a young age is not a positive thing. You don’t know the meaning of the gift of your easy great looks, talent (if you have any) wealth and success. Perhaps these stars with their problems and self pity should travel to some third world country or even look around their own country and see how hard life is for most people in their struggle for survival. Maybe some charity work is in order.

One has to feel sorry for Hollywood celebrities.

Jamie Lee Curtis was a painkiller addict

Hollywood celebrities. They have the dream life, a never ending source of cash, a fabulous mansion, can shop til they drop everyday, and take a vacation at least once a month in some fabulous resort and whatever they want is for the taking! Why is this life so hard? Why do so many of them end up with substance abuse problems?

Jamie Lee Curtis has recently revealed that she was addicted to pain killers. She made this confession recently in light of Michael Jackson’s death. She states that “I believe Mr.Jackson was in pain,” “Mr. Jackson was an addict. It is coming out. Everywhere. He wanted relief and would get it in any name, place or method he could. It was and is a conspiracy of silence and I’m sure there were attempts to intervene and I’m sure his family and friends tried… but the addict gets what the addict wants, relief from the pain of their life.”

The celebrity gossip rumours are flying about the cause and relationship to painkillers connection of Michael Jackson’s untimely death. Jamie revealed that was hooked on painkillers and know how hard it is for people to beat the addiction. She wrote a blog post for the Huffington Post.

“The morphine becomes the warm bath from which to escape painful reality. I was a luck one. I was able to see that the pain had started long ago and far away and that the finding the narcotic was merely a matter of time.

Curtis has since beaten her addicition and stopped using drugs. She writes, “My recovery from drug additionin is the single greatest accomplishment of my life… But it takes work, hard, painful work.”

Michael Jackson Overdose

I actually am looking forward to the results of Michael Jackson’s autopsy report. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last week, we all know that Michael Jackson, the king of pop died last week at the age of 50. Currently, the cause of death is known as a “heart attack”. In my opinion, 50 is way too young to die of a heart attack. I don’t want it to be a heart attack. It means, the life expectancy of the human race is slightly shorter than I had hoped. However, the press reports and celebrity gossip sites are all whispering that it’s a drug overdose.

Michael Jackson’s father is even having his doubts about the events that led up to his death. It is reported that Michael’s stomach contained partially dissolved pills and that he was extremely underweight. There are also rumours that there were four injection marks close to the heart, from attempts to inject adrenalibne into the heart to restart it.

It all sounds kind of fishy. After all, 50 years old is too young to die. It doesn’t sound natural.

Other people are talking and saying that Michael was taken ephedren and exercising like crazy to get back into shape for his comeback appearances in London. Others said the routines he was practicing were even difficult for a 25 year old to do.

It is also known from the doctor who treated him that Michael almost died from a morphine overdose after his famous interview with the British journalist Martin Bashir. In 2003, he overdosed on painkillers after a frenzy of anxiety.

Michael’s troubled life and the current stress of owing millions of dollars probably created a severe stress. However, his father predicts that Michael Jackson will be larger in death than he was in life.

Cameron Diaz Gets a Star

Finally, this week - good celebrity gossip news, Cameron Diaz was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This is one of the greatest achievements a celebrity can receive.

Cameron was extremely excited about the award. The 36 year old star gushed, "It will be cool to be under people's feet… It really is the place where people can understand exactly that actors are not really stars - they don't exist in the sky, they exist on the ground just like everybody else."

Cameron’s career began at the age of 21 when she starred in Jim Carrey's hit comedy 'The Mask' – a role she won without previous acting experience after a referral by her modelling agent. Hollywood hits followed with films including 'There's Something About Mary', 'My Best Friend's Wedding', 'Gangs of New York' and 'Shrek'.

Her looks got her to Hollywood but her comedic abilities and her down to earth sensibility have won her both male and female fans. She has a self deprecating sense of humour and isn’t obsessed with her looks like other female Hollywood stars. On the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, she drank a bottle of coke and followed that with a burp. That clip has been played repeatedly and she knew it and she didn’t seem to mind.

An avid surfer, she has broken her nose four times and doesn’t mind talking about her plastic surgery to fix her nose.

Her latest role in ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ is not a comedy role for Cameron. She plays a mother coping with her eldest daughter’s cancer. In an attempt to save her daughter, she and her husband have another child in order to provide bone marrow and other bodily parts for the dying daughter. Cameron could relate to the depression of the mother whom she played. She also felt this way when her father was sick and died last year.

"Family is so important," she said. "What drew all of us to this story was the family, and the stories of each of these characters. I think we all related to the fact that there isn't anything that you wouldn't give someone that you love that deeply.

"You do whatever it takes to keep that person alive. I think that that's something that spoke to most of us, for this film, and what I think is so effective, in the film. I think the most important thing that I've found in my life is just my family and friends."

Madonna's New Daughter Mercy Flown to London Overnight

"Mercy Chifundo James, the 3-year-old toddler adopted by Madonna, was secretly flown from her home country of Malawi into London early Saturday morning.

"A private jet flew in from South Africa and collected her at five minutes to six last evening," an airport source tells PEOPLE. "She connected to London from Johannesburg at 10:30 p.m."

Mercy, who will be joining big sister, Lourdes, brothers Rocco and David Banda, – also a 3-year-old from Malawi – was accompany by a nanny, a child nurse and another aide. Madonna has homes in England and in the United States."

Madonna Wins Adoption Appeal in Malawi

"Madonna's family has just gotten bigger, now that the pop star has legally won the right to adopt a daughter from Malawi.

Preparations are already underway to bring Chifundo "Mercy" James, 3, from the African country to America private jet, after the singer stayed up throughout the night hoping for a courtroom victory.

"It's the early hours in New York now but my client has been awake all night waiting for this," Madonna's Malawi lawyer, Alan Chinula, tells PEOPLE. The attorney spoke to his client as soon as the ruling was made official, at around 2 a.m. her time Friday. "She was ecstatic when I broke the news to her. She said, 'Thank heavens.' "

Chinula says he is "now awaiting instructions from New York to start preparing travel arrangements for Mercy. I have to be there for her passports and everything."

It is likely to take three to five days before the paperwork is ready and the child is able to leave and join fellow adoptee David, also 3. He was formally adopted in 2008 after some controversy and legal challenges.

Private Jet Arranged
Madonna, 50, is not expected to fly out to Africa from New York, but Philippe Van Der Bossche, director of her Raising Malawi charity, has been asked to arrange a private jet as soon as possible.

It is believed that Mercy may, in the short term, be moved to the Kumbali lodge where Madonna stays when she is Malawi.

The ruling – by Malawi's highest court – was made after a lower court had turned down Madonna's first bid to adopt Mercy in April. That court had said the singer had not spent enough time in Malawi."
