American Idol Top 40 Night

Tonight's American Idol presented tunes from the Top 40 hit list where some of the performers gave their best performances of the competition. In total, nine contestants remain on American Idol.

Anoop Desai was up first for the night but gave a disappointing performance which gave Simon Cowell "a headache" and was judged as "nothing original". Am not seeing Anoop as anything original and truly not what one would think of as "Idol" material.

Singing one of her favourite songs by Bob Marley, "Turn Your Lights Down Low", Megan Joy got herself into further trouble according to Kara DioGuardi, who's missing the full range of Megan's voice, its falsettos etc. Paula Abdul told Megan she “needs to surprise us now” to stay in the competition. Simon judged Megan’s performance as “boring, indulgent and monotonous” and “wrong choice of song”. Again. Megan came to her own self defence and thought she had pleased her “fans”. Me thinks, Megan needs a lot of fans this week to stay in the competition. She’s so gorgeous, but I think she’s missing her true calling – Hollywood needs her.

Danny Gokey gave his best performance so far in the American Idol competition. Randy Jackson judged Danny’s performance as the one where “tonight’s show starts right here”. I personally can’t remember what he sung because I don’t find him to be “Idol” material so I guess I won’t be downloading his tune anytime soon.

One of the very best, or perhaps, the best female performers in the finalists, Allison Iraheta, wearing a rather silly getup of the kind that 16 year olds since time immemorial have been putting together, accompanied herself with the guitar singing “Don’t Speak”. As usual, apart from the comments on her clothes by the judges, she was rated as “masterful”, “effortless”, etc., etc. … Simon couldn’t ignore the outfit either, and found Allison like a little girl dressed up like a rock star, singing a rock song and thought she “shouted the song”. Simon, she’s still amazing. Get her a stylist.

Scott MacIntyre, now slicking back his hair like Adam Lambert, again with his piano, serenaded us with a Billy Joel song, Carla claiming he’s chosen the right song, Paula proud of him and Randy saying that Scot was the best of the night. Not another song I’ll be downloading anytime soon.

Matt Girard sung “You Found Me” by the Fray. Matt is talented but chose the wrong song, let’s face it. Simon complained, “we don’t like you this week” and judged his performance “uptight”. Randy said Matt chose the wrong song. Cara finds Matt waivers between rock and pop, but he doesn’t deserve to go home. I agree. He’s better than some of the aforementioned American Idol contestants. He’s got talent.

Lil disappointed again this week with an old fashioned Celine Dion song. I’m sure she’s got it in her but me thinks she keeps choosing the wrong song. Damn! Randy agreed with me, Cara saw glimpses of what the judges had seen in the beginning with Lil. Simon, thought she’d chosen a safe song and gave a performance similar to a performance at a wedding.

Adam Lambert, already an American Idol who needs no training, no grooming, no dance lessons, no voice lessons, or style coaching, thrilled the audience and judges with “Play that Funky Music” by Wild Cherry. Paula rates him a “true genius” and compared him to the likes of Mick Jagger, although found his performance not as good as last week. Randy judged Adam “in the star zone” and Cara admitted she can’t wait each week to see what Adam will do. Neither can I. This guy, Adam Lambert has got the moves. Sexy or hot or what?

Chris Allen was last up on American Idol (one of the best places to be on a given night) and sung “Ain’t No Sunshine” beautifully. Cara, so seeking artistry in a performer declared “THAT is artistry”, Randy said he gave the best performance of the night, Paula said that song could be the first cut on his album and Simon found it a clever and cool arrangement. When Simon is nice to you, it means he likes you.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see who America votes until tomorrow night on American Idol.

American Idol – Who Goes, Who Stays

Last night’s entertainment show American Idol had the highest number of voters – 36 million – in their entire history - for the top ten.

Smokey Robinson and Joss Stone sung a duet (pleasant, liked it) and Stevie Wonder sung “Superstition" and "Overjoyed” to the thrill of everyone in the audience.

Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta, the strongest performers on the show this season, we think, were safe. We were expecting that.

The bottom three in last night’s show were Matt Giraud (surprise – he’s got talent), Scott MacIntyre (no surprise, very boring) and Michael Sarver (no surprise, an American Idol, not!) – the time to go is now. Judge’s save has still not been used and they didn’t use it last night either to save Michael Sarver who was voted off the show. I suppose they are waiting to use it for what it’s true purpose – to save someone worth saving and that American voters don’t realize is worth save, for example, someone as talented as Allison Iraheta, who found herself in the bottom three last week. Hmmph! Pu-leeeeze!

Paris Hilton Considers Marriage Proposal

Newest gossip on Paris Hilton has told her boyfriend she will "think about" his proposal.

The 28-year-old hotel heiress was reportedly unimpressed when Doug Reinhardt got down on one knee during dinner with her parents Kathy and Rick at The Ivy restaurant in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Doug, 23, presented Paris with a Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring but instead of jumping for joy, the socialite snapped the ring box shut and said she would need time to consider his marriage offer.

Luiz Heitor - father of Jesus Luz, the singer's 22-year-old Brazilian boyfriend - has given the couple his blessing, saying the 28-year age gap between them doesn't matter.

Luiz - who, at 46, is four years younger than Madonna - is quoted as saying: "When Cupid strikes, age doesn't matter. My son told me his relationship with Madonna is serious. People speak about their difference in ages, this is nonsense."

We can’t quite get used to the idea of Kate Moss having big boobs, given that it was her waif-like figure that made her so famous in the first place. Kate hoiked up her bazookas and shoved them into a low-cut dress as she partied at London’s Groucho club last night, and she seems very pleased about the whole thing. “They just grew overnight,” she said in a recent interview. “It's great. American Idol Last Night

American Idol’s performances last night really showed who’s a winner and who’s going home. The best by far had to be Adam Lambert who was honestly the best performance last night out of the male performers. He sung "Tracks of My Tears" that caused the legendary Smokey Robinson to give him a standing ovation. Adam already shows signs of superstardom – able to re-invent himself in a little less than a week, wearing slick backed hair, stylish suit and a voice that is still amazing. He’s got the most versatility of all the contestants, by far. Simon Cowell who makes no bones about anything called Adam, “the best performance of the evening”.

Allison Iraheta with her amazing vocal chords at the tender age of 16, was the best female performance, singing, “Papa was a Rolling Stone”. She is has got to be the strongest female performer of the group. How she got to the bottom three last week, I’ll never know.

Anoop Desai did a heartfelt rendition Smokey Robinson's "Oooo Baby Baby" but whether he can continue to show artistry and originality on a consistent bases, we’re not sure. Not rushing out to download the tune for this one or any other of his songs.

Matt Giraud did well. Megan Joy has beauty and talent but she needs to find a new mentor to help her choose her songs to fit her quirky yet very contemporary style. I’m sure she’ll have a great career in the future. Lil Rounds raced through her song to her detriment and the same thing goes for Michael Sarver who has the right attitude since day one. Chris Allen was good along with Danny Gokey, but I don’t think I’m rushing out to by the CD or even download the tune.

Victoria Beckham, formerly Posh Spice is fighting with her husband David’s mother. The daughter and mother-in-law are fighting over arrangements for the children, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

"Victoria had been house hunting in Milan, but then Sandra decided she wanted to be at her daughter's birthday, so Victoria had to fly back early. Sandra and Victoria had a row," the Daily Mail reported quoting sources.

"Victoria never leaves her children for more than a week. The dates had already been organised with Sandra," the source added.

Natasha Richardson buried in private New York ceremony

A funeral for the late actress Natasha Richardson was held at St. Peter's Church in Millbrook, NY earlier today, reports People.com. Richardson's husband, Liam Neeson, who carried the casket along with six other pallbearers to the church, joined her mother Vanessa Redgrave, sister Joely Richardson, and the couple's sons, Micheál and Daniel in saying their final goodbyes. Also present at the services were family friends Uma Thurman, Ralph Fiennes, and Mia Farrow. Richardson was buried in the same cemetery as her grandmother, Rachel Redgrave.

Demi Moore, escorted by Ashton Kutcher from the Kabbahal Centre in Beverly Hills after celebrating the Jewish holiday, Purim, suddenly collapsed on the eve of ex-husband Bruce Willis’ marriage to Victoria Secret model Emma Heming.

Bad timing, it seems… but the reality is, according to a friend is that Demi Moore, a perfectionist by nature, and follows a strenuous diet and exercise routine that caused her to collapse. She follows a stringent diet and workout routine whereby she has increased her regular exercise program of Pilates, weight and cardio workouts and decreased her caloric intake in an all out effort to keep up with the younger starlets. Apparently, this routine in pursuit of youth has caused her to collapse and faint into the arms of her love, Ashton, who wishes she’d lighten up a little as he loves her dearly.


Bruce and Emma who have been dating for over a year, got married on March 19th on a private tropical island. Demi and Ashton were involved in the planning of Bruce’s nuptials.

This creep Howard K. Stern and the “good” doctors – Sandeep Kapoor and Christine Eroshevich were charged March 12 with giving the Playboy Playmate beauty Anna Nicole Smith with bottles and bottles of prescription drugs which eventually led to her death. Stern also liked to keep her very drunk, just to control her and get a chance to cop a feel. Anna Nicole Smith never slept with Stern. He repulsed her.

Seems Stern had the hots for Anna Nicole Smith (who died February 8, 2007) never wanted to sleep with him and when she was drunk, he was able to “have his way” with her. Stern, who was her lawyer, was with her for 12 years and saw Anna Nicole as his “meal ticket”.

Apparently, Anna Nicole, who never went to the doctor, had a steady stream of pills such as methodone, Vicodin, Xanax, Tylenol with codeine. Seems a friend even saw Stern inject drugs into Anna Nicole’s butt. Also on the prescription list from Dr. Eroshevich was the muscle relaxants clonazepam and carisoprodol, prescribed to Michelle Chase but intended only for Anna Nicole.

As expected, both doctors and Howard K. Stern are pleading “Not Guilty”. Yeah, whatever!

Mel Gibson caught kissing a young maiden in the beach in Costa Rica, wife age 53, Robyn, mother of his seven children nowhere to be seen!

Recent photographs turned up of aging Mel Gibson, age 53, kissing an unidentified young bikini clad woman.

A witness said: "It was near sunset. The two of them were playing in the surf, ducking into waves," … "Then Mel sort of took hold of her and she came willingly into his arms. They put their arms around each other and kissed pretty passionately for about four or five seconds."
The witness speculates that the unidentified woman is a Russian musician called Oksana, rumoured to have recently (last September) a secret affair with Mel.

Gibson was staying at his 300-acre Costa Rican property holiday with his sons, his sons' girlfriends and other friends. His wife, as I said, was nowhere to be seen. Me, thinks, it's a middle age crisis for the man. Andropause they call it.
